  1. In recent years, many promises of aid and debt relief for poor countries have been made by rich nations. But hardly any has really been delivered. Recent G8 summits have often produced a lot of statements of ways forward especially on issues related to poverty and development, but it seems that words aren't always followed up with actions.   2. A recent international summit on food and hunger highlights the problems of politics as an obstacle to solving world hunger. Causes of world hunger are found in political and economic roots, rather than just agricultural issues. Hence, the solutions, if possible, are even more complex. Find Out More »
